UMBRELLAORDER
QR ordering for pool bars and hotel hospitality spaces
By the pool, guests want to stay comfortable while your team needs to know who is waiting for what. UmbrellaOrder connects those two sides with a QR menu for each service location. Guests choose from their phones and the order appears in the application with their seating location attached.
The same approach can support a pool bar or a defined food and beverage area within a hotel. Start by mapping that particular space and how its team works. Clear location names make the ordering process easier to understand for both guests and staff.
Make your service zones easy to recognise
The pool, sunbeds and bar tables do not have to share an indistinguishable numbering system. Use clear names and check that each code points to the correct physical location. When furniture moves, check the mapping again before guests start using those seats.
A QR code gives access to the menu; it does not establish a guest’s identity. Your venue still needs a practical process for checking an order and delivering it to the right person at the right location.
Help Greek and international guests understand the menu
The menu supports Greek and English. Write straightforward descriptions, add the available options and review each translation from the perspective of someone unfamiliar with the venue. If a product is unavailable or served only at certain times, keep the information aligned with the actual service.
Place scanning instructions where they can be seen, and offer an alternative for guests who cannot or do not want to use a phone. Technology supports hospitality best when a person remains available to help.
Agree on the route every order will take
Decide who watches the application and order view, when order statuses are updated and who handles delivery. At a shift change, review outstanding orders together. Use individual accounts and appropriate staff roles instead of passing the owner’s credentials between team members.
Submitting orders requires an internet connection. Test coverage in every service zone, including seats furthest from the bar. Guests pay at the venue using your available cash or card methods. Your business subscription is billed separately.
Plan around the capabilities you have
Using UmbrellaOrder in a hotel does not automatically connect it to a property management system, room-charge account or booking system. If your operation needs one of these connections, discuss the specific requirement before making it part of the service you offer guests.
Start with a defined area and walk a test order through the whole process with your team. Read the staff workflow guide and create an account to prepare your own venue.
UmbrellaOrder is operated by idweb (Καλπάκογλου Δέσποινα). Monthly subscription prices include VAT. For questions about setting up your venue, contact info@idweb.gr.
